While the website is just getting up and running, soon it will be a place for you to find information about upcoming events and articles of interest, resources that are available to help you such as PowerPoint presentations and workshops, and also a referral/networking list of LCCA members, including where they are working, what their areas of specialty are, and how they might be able to help you.

        The website will be a great way for us to make the most use of our greatest resource: our membership! We will also be including online versions of our newsletter, the Le Roux, as well as links to other websites with useful information for your work in higher education. In addition, we will be using the website to find out better ways to serve you, including surveys of desired workshops, things you would like to see on the website itself, and even future elections.

LCA Conference Update!

Greetings everyone!

I am proud to say that we had a wonderful LCA Conference this year at the Sheraton in Baton Rouge! Despite the difficulties that our state and people have experienced over the past several months, counselors were out in force to find the best ways to help our state recover. Karen Moran, Diane Austin, and the rest of the conference crew did an outstanding job in putting everything together!

There was tremendous participation from members of all divisions, including LCCA! I am also pleased that we were able to entice over 50 non-LCCA members to sign up to request more information about our division! Wow!

Collaboration is also in the air, as the LCCA Board is looking into co-hosting a workshop in April on the Strong Interest Inventory. Details will be forthcoming, so check back often to see what's new!

I would like to thank a great Executive Board for putting together a great showing at the conference. Thanks Cheryl, Lisa, Robert, and Sandra (great job on the LCCA Newsletter!).

Also, I would like to congratulate the following LCCA members for their election to our Executive Board: Karen Goodridge (President-Elect-Elect), Robert Burt (Treasurer-in-perpetuity), Sharon Eaton (Secretary), Sarah Raiford (Member-at-Large), and Robin Arnold (Member-at-Large). Thanks for your willingness to serve on the board, and I look forward to great things from all of you!

A final thanks goes out to all of you, the membership. You have shown yourselves time and time again to be a fantastic group, and it has, and continues to be, a pleasure to serve as your president!
